Australians are known for their laid back, easy-going attitude towards life. If something goes wrong, we just say “she’ll be right”. It means any old problem will sort itself out with time. On International Women’s Day we tackled our cultural apathy and asked, ‘when?’
#whenwillsheberight made its way into discussions around equality on IWD and beyond, on the news, in school assemblies, university lectures, private company emails, feminist opinion pieces, and across LinkedIn and socials. Two weeks later, the phrase was chanted at March4Justice rallies across the country and appeared on protest placards.
